Help Shaftesbury Youth Club raise Β£2,500 for our young people! π
At Shaftes, young people are at the heart of everything we do.
We provide a safe, welcoming and inclusive space where children and young people aged 5β18, and up to 25 for young people with SEND, can come together, make friends, try new activities, develop skills and, most importantly, have somewhere they feel they belong.
For many of our young people, Shaftes is much more than somewhere to go after school. It is somewhere they can be themselves. It is a place where there is always a trusted adult to talk to, where friendships are formed, confidence grows and young people are encouraged to recognise their own potential.
Why our work matters
The young people we support come from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances. We believe a family's financial circumstances should never determine whether a young person gets to take part. That's why we work hard to keep our provision accessible and provide opportunities that young people might otherwise miss out on.
Our youth workers build genuine, trusted relationships with young people. Alongside all the fun, sport and activities, our sessions give young people access to positive role models, informal education, mentoring and support when they need it.
What happens at Shaftes?
Our provision gives young people opportunities to get active, socialise and have fun through a wide variety of sports, games and activities.
Through the Cash for Kids Sports Challenge, we want to raise Β£2,500 towards a new, high-quality pool table and equipment for our young people.
It might sound like "just a pool table", but to us it represents so much more.
Some of the best youth work conversations don't happen sitting across a desk, they happen naturally while doing something together.
We have just four weeks to reach our Β£2,500 target, and we're going to give it everything we've got.
Our young people will be getting involved, our team will be fundraising, and we'll be asking local businesses, families, friends and our wider community to get behind Shaftes.
Every donation matters.
Whether it's **Β£2, Β£5, Β£10, Β£50 or more**, every contribution takes us another step towards our target and helps us continue providing opportunities for the children and young people who walk through our doors every week.
All the monies we raise will be put back into the club, plus we could win an extra Β£5,000, Β£2,500 or Β£1,500 if we're in the top three fundraising groups, plus all other groups still get Β£500 if we raise Β£2,000!
Please donate if you can, we'd really appreciate it. Thank you!
